Besides the benefits that carry for life you forgot the “consulting” and speaking fees that come when they leave office. Former President Clinton last year made $74M and paid less than 15% in taxes on it just like Mitt Romney’s $23M he made last year. I have ZERO problem with a person EARNING a lot of money but EVERYONE should pay the same taxes. With that same % a person that made 1M should pay $150,000. A person that makes $100,000 should pay $15,000 and a personr that makes $10,000 would pay $1500. Then it would be a fair and equal system . Plus the idea of paying up to $15,000 a single PLATE to hear a former president speak is so stupid. Those people can’t find better things to spend $15000 on? I can think of a LOT of places that could go besides To line someone’s pocket that already is set for life on retirement and benefits.no wonder they want an office plus the good insurance

These politicians should not be paid for their time when they are not in service
not to mention all the money they get from special interest groups too. they’re not doing a very good job so their pay...
